Ron Kubek entered the Real Estate business in 1985 where in 2 short years he rose to the #2 Realtor® in the Victoria Real Estate Board. His career continued to grow to the point of #1 sales person in Victoria from 1995-1997 and winner of many International Awards and recognitions. His career has continued to evolve to that of a currently successful Mega Agent with a great team of agents and he has added many different roles along the way. Ron is the founder of Keller Williams Realty Canada and still is a partner to this day. He has owned and still owns a Real Estate Sales
Brokerage Business.

- WEEK ONE -

OK.. Here is my first week check-in for the Body Fit Challenge I entered at the California Family Fitness in Elk Grove!

Weight loss was not so much my motivation for joining this challenge.  It was more about getting myself in better shape so I can be healthier and live a longer life. I realized this year that all the money in the world can not buy your health! So as I creep up into my 30's, I decided I am no longer invincible and need to get it together!

Week one was somewhat of a challenge for me in that I was out of town and thrown off my schedule for 3 out of my 7 days. It was a challenge yes, but not impossible. I worked out at the gym everyday while I was home. When I was out of town, I threw on my walking shoes and took a walk/run 2 times a day for about an hour or so. Thank goodness my Sister has a dog that needs to be walked, so it made it easy to get the workouts in.

The biggest takeaway this week... no matter what is going on in your life, you can always find time to exercise.  In town ...out of town... it doesn't really matter! Just do it!

My confidence is up and I am full force ahead! Once you shake off the cob webs, it is amazing how quickly you actually start enjoying regular exercise.

So I ended week one with 6 pound weight loss, but most importantly I feel more confident in what I am doing and can now push myself to the next level.

Day One >>

I was nervous about posting this because like Oprah I might regret it!

This weekend I (Erin) joined a fitness challenge at California Family Fitness in Elk Grove called the Body Fit Challenge. It is a 8 week competition (similar to The Biggest Looser TV show) where you compete against other members to see who can achieve the biggest results within the allotted time frame.

Because I am very competitive, I thought this was a great way to push me out of my comfort zone and get me to step up my fitness game. 

Last Saturday marked our first weight-in and boy was that depressing!

What is so great about this challenge? I get to meet other folks in the Elk Grove area who are all working on the same goal of improving their health.  Although it is an individual competition, it is fun working out with your team and pushing each other to the next level! You would be surprised how many member of my team are already in great shape!

On Monday I decided I would take my first Spin Class since this competition is about pushing yourself out of your fitness comfort zone. Boy... was that an experience.  Thank goodness it was the level 1 class...although you can always take the advanced classes at your own pace (so they say).

There were 2 newbies (me and another gal) taking the class for the first time.  To be honest I was nervous.  I had heard stories about how tough these classes were and I was fearful I would not make it through the entire class.

About 10 minutes into the class the other newbie bailed out! The pressure was on... so I put my head down and pushed through to the end.  The good news is I MADE IT!  The bad news was I could barely walk!  In fact, as I walked out of the gym and stepped down from curb, my legs almost gave out on me because they felt like noodles. That must mean I did good!

Tuesday was our first team workout with our trainer.  At the time I thought ... this is too easy.. Is he really going to push us?  Well about 2 hours later I realized I was going to be extremely sore in the morning making me reconsider my evaluation of my new trainer!

So wish me luck as I will need it! I will make sure to give you weekly updates on my progress!
